About the Public Child Sex Offender Register
The Community Protection and Public Child Sex Offender Register (Daniel's Law) Act 2025 was introduced by the Queensland Government in October 2025 as part of the Making Queensland Safer Laws. It aims to help all Queenslanders play a role in safeguarding children in our communities.

Daniel's Law honours Daniel
Morcombe, whose tragic disappearance
in 2003 transformed child safety in
Queensland. Inspired by the Morcombe
family's tireless advocacy, this law
ensures families can access
accurate, responsible information
about certain child sex offenders.
Its purpose is clear: to help
safeguard children, uphold privacy,
and use information lawfully and
respectfully, so no family endures
what Daniel's family experienced.
